The Sofa-Side Studio
Todd Michael and Todd Glass crouched beside a cardboard booth as solemn as a broadcast tower. Their marble guests had no chairs, so Todd Glass rolled out bottle caps. The blue marble chose the one shaped like a tiny moon.
Todd Michael held the microphone close. The marbles clicked out a tune, and the sofa supplied a bass note whenever anyone leaned on it. The studio’s first review came from a dust bunny: “Needs more crumbs.”
A very small guest list
Todd Michael set up a cardboard podcast booth beside the jar of marbles. Todd Glass arrived as producer, carrying a microphone no bigger than a pea. “Today’s guests are the marbles,” Todd Michael announced. The marbles said nothing. This was their first booking, and they were already keeping a mysterious silence.
Todd Glass suggested a warm-up question: what did they think of the jar? One marble rolled in a circle, another tapped the glass, and a blue one escaped beneath the sofa. Todd Michael followed with a notepad while Todd Glass kept the microphone trained on the jar, in case it had a statement.
They found the blue guest under a slipper, where it had apparently been considering its answer. Back in the booth, the marbles clicked together in a tidy little chord. Todd Michael called it a short musical interview; Todd Glass asked whether the jar had a follow-up. The jar remained professionally silent, but received a thank-you card.
Record Again, Please
The blue marble escaped mid-interview. Todd Michael and Todd Glass stopped the recording and searched under the sofa, where the guest was hiding beside one lost button. Nobody scolded the runaway; the button had been missing for years.
They restarted with all the marbles safely in bottle-cap seats. This time the sofa stayed quiet, but the jar gave a dignified little clink at the end. Todd Glass called it an exclusive. Todd Michael filed the button under “future guest.”
Studio for Marbles
Todd Michael sets the mic just right,
Todd Glass rolls a guest in sight.
One marble clicks a silver tune,
The sofa hums a bassoon.
A button waits beneath the chair,
The jar gives one small clink of flair.
The show signs off; the dust bunnies cheer,
“Same tiny guests, come back next year!”
