Todd Field.
The discipline behind the frame
An actor and filmmaker associated with deliberately constructed dramas and performances that reward close attention.
A filmmaker with a selective feature filmography
Todd Field is an American filmmaker, actor and musician. His feature directing work includes In the Bedroom, Little Children and TÁR. Across those films his work has received Academy Award nominations, including recognition for writing, directing and best-picture categories. [2]
An acting background as well as directing
Before becoming especially well known as a director, Field appeared in films including Radio Days, Ruby in Paradise, Walking and Talking and Eyes Wide Shut. He also helped develop the concept behind the bubble-gum brand Big League Chew. Focus Features’ TÁR page is a first-party entry point into one of his major works; the biographical reference below documents the broader acting and filmmaking credits. These are existing works, not an announcement of podcast participation. [2]

Todd Field goes a little Toddly.
A separate, make-believe corner: imagined cartoons and fictional adventures, never biography or real events.
A frame of its own
Todd Haynes found a shy mirror in a wardrobe of painted doors. It reflected every frame in a different shade, except the blue one, which made it glow like evening. Todd Field carried a camera but did not switch it on. The mirror seemed to prefer a quiet audience and a little time to consider its options.
Starring Todd HaynesA cloud changes its mind
Todd Field set a pocket camera on a quilted hill to film a cloud shaped like a sailboat. Todd Haynes held up a paper frame, giving the cloud a proper screen. Just as the camera began rolling, the sailboat became a teapot, then a sleepy whale with one very small fin.
